Mothers and Sons

Aiden and I are cozy on the couch together right now watching Ghosthunters. He just brushed my hair - his idea - and we're settling in to watch a dvred SciFi show that we both enjoy.
I remember finding out I was having a boy and being scared and upset because I wouldn't know what to do with a boy. Little did I know, you don't have to 'do' anything to enjoy your kids - you just enjoy them. It probably helps that they're a part of you. Whether they're 6 months old and you find out they like eating zesty guacamole with you or they're nearly 5 years old watching a reality ghost hunting show that attempts to find scientifically proven evidence of paranormal activity.
There are lots of things in between too. Our love of salsa and pickles and sour candy. Our enjoyment of holidays and decorations. Our need to sing obnoxious commercial jingles. And our disgust at Daddy's farts. So thankfully Aiden isn't 'just a boy', he's my boy and my Aiden and will continue to be forever. :)

A trip to Wave Country in Nashville, TN was just what we needed that hot July day on vacation. Aiden and I crab-crawled around the pool along with floating (and wiping out!) in a big tube.

Aiden is a great little photographer. He even dabbles in SLR photography. This photo was taken with our point-and-shoot camera and was a surprise when I uploaded the photos. I think it's pretty cute. :)

Last weekend my little boy had his fourth birthday party and celebrated Easter. He's growing up so quickly!
He made quite a haul of presents and candy-filled eggs. Great weekend no matter how old you are. :)

Just the beginning...

Unfortunately me off of them isn't healed. Meds definitely don't heal, they just alter. So I'm trying - or going to try - to figure out a cognitive way to alter my anxiety. My pissy attitude. My bitchiness.

Long road ahead. [sigh]
